Spring Quarter FAQ's

I forgot to submit my FAFSA. Do I need to submit it every year?

Students must submit their FAFSA every year. March 2nd is the priority deadline for undergraduate students to submit a FAFSA. This deadline is important to be considered for all types of aid administered by UC Santa Cruz.

California residents must also submit the GPA Verification Form to the California Student Aid Commission by March 2 if you are a new Cal Grant applicant. This form is not required to renew a Cal Grant.

Will I get an aid offer before I have to submit my Statement of Intent to Register? If yes, will this aid offer change after I submit my intent to register?

New undergraduate students admitted to fall quarter who submit a valid FAFSA will receive an estimated offer of financial aid. The estimate is based on data from your FAFSA. The more accurate the data on the FAFSA, the more accurate the aid estimate. The estimated aid offer is subject to change if the information on the FAFSA is incorrect, incomplete or doesn't accurately reflect your family’s ability to contribute.

My parents tried applying for a parent plus loan for next year, but the online application was not available. Is it too early to apply?

The parent plus loan application for the academic year opens after June 1. If parents tried to apply before then, you won’t be able to access the application.
